The volunteers at the Fredericksburg-Rappahannock Chapter of the Izaak Walton League of America have been working hard to get ready for Dog Mart on Saturday, September 24, We have 22 vendors and exhibitors that are coming. We will have a dog show, dog demonstrations, a barrel train, reenactors from various eras of the Dog Mart, a Native American exhibit, a face painter for the kids, a moon bounce, a fishing tournament for the children, a featured raffle for a 12-gauge shotgun and a YETI cooler, silent auctions, a noon time ceremony recreating the origins of the Dog Mart after one of our members will sing the National Anthem, and a special treat this year, free ice cream. Our menu includes pulled pork sandwiches, hamburgers and hot dogs, and an assortment of soft drinks. Entry is only $5 for a carload (no inflation at the gate). And the best thing is that the weather will be perfect again this year. Bring the kids and Fido (on a leash). Follow the signs that lead to Dog Mart.
