The volunteers at the Fredericksburg-Rappahannock Chapter of the Izaak Walton League of America have been working hard to get ready for Dog Mart on Saturday, September 30 (note: disregard the date on the pictured sign as it will be updated soon), We have vendors and exhibitors that are coming. We will have a dog show, dog demonstrations, a barrel train, reenactors from various eras of the Dog Mart, a Native American exhibit, a face painter for the kids, a moon bounce, a fishing tournament for the children, a featured raffle for a 12-gauge Stoeger over and under shotgun, a 35 liter Calcutta cooler, and a Seiko gentleman’s watch, silent auctions, a noon time ceremony recreating the origins of the Dog Mart after one of our members will sing the National Anthem, and a special treat again this year, free ice cream. Our menu includes pulled pork sandwiches, hamburgers, and hot dogs, and an assortment of soft drinks. Entry is only $5 for a carload (no inflation at the gate). And the best thing is that the weather will be perfect again this year. Bring the kids and Fido (on a leash). Follow the signs that lead to Dog Mart.
Unprecedented Aerial View of the Dog Mart
This year we had a drone capture an aerial view of the 324th Dog Mart. This is a quick aerial overflight of the grounds taken from the drone flight path coming in from over the pond. Special thanks to Andrew Tindall for providing the drone views.
