Our Izaak Walton Fredericksburg-Rappahannock chapter was cited recently by the Commonwealth of Virginia General Assembly for its long standing stewardship for the Fredericksburg Dog Mart as the oldest dog event in the United States. We are very proud to continue this tradition at our chapter grounds. Mark Cole, Virginia State Delegate, made the presentation at a chapter membership meeting on the evening of June 3, 2021. Wondering what to expect at the Fredericksburg Dog Mart? Check out the notional Schedule! The schedule is continually changing so check back starting in mid-August when it will be better defined.

When:
Saturday, September 26th, 2026, from 9:30 AM – 3:00 PM (postponed, see below.)
Rain date:
Sunday, September 27th; if we have to move to the rain date due to rain on the scheduled date, September 26th. We will conduct nearly the same schedule we had planned for the regularly scheduled event with as few changes as possible.
Where:
Fredericksburg-Rappahannock Chapter Park at 12400 Herndon Road in Spotsylvania, VA.
What:
The following are notional until the plans are better defined. Check back in late August. View the official 2024 326th annual Dog Mart Trifold and the Final Event Schedule and Event Map for 2025.
Admission:
Parking fee $5.00 per carload to be paid at the gate. Bring the whole family including the dogs!! Cash or credit accepted.
